Format Changes Entire Document in Microsoft Word

Changing the format of a paragraph sometimes changes the entire document.

Just click inside the paragraph, and note the style applied to it.

From the menu, choose Format Styles and Formatting. Right-click the style in the Styles and Formatting task pane, and choose Modify.

Edit the style so it doesn't automatically update by UNchecking the Automatically update box.
